Hammerhead Karoo 3 GPS Bike Computer

With the Karoo 3, Hammerhead presents an update to its Android-based GPS bike computer that takes a big step forward in terms of both hardware and software. A more angular design, longer battery life, lower weight and more powerful hardware are the outstanding improvements.

It is still intuitive to use, either via the improved physical buttons or the responsive high-res touchscreen with anti-reflective Corning Gorilla Glass. In addition, the battery life has been increased by about 30 per cent compared to its predecessor and now promises a duration of up to 15 hours. The navigation capabilities have also been improved: Thanks to the upgrade to Multi-Band GNSS, the location determination has been improved to be more accurate and reliable. If you do get lost, the Karoo 3's even more powerful hardware will quickly calculate a route that will take you back to the planned route – without any annoying turning manoeuvres!

Thanks to the fully customisable riding profiles, you can also specify exactly which riding and sensor data is shown on the display. Perfect for different bikes – whether indoor or outdoor, tarmac or trail, bike tour or interval training. The CLIMBER function is always included, providing you with data and a visualisation of the upcoming ascent so that you know what to expect and how much you have already achieved. In addition you have the option of synchronising planned workouts, completed rides and routes with apps such as Strava, Komoot and TrainingPeaks with your device using the Companion App via Bluetooth or via the Hammerhead Dashboard Website. Of course, you can also connect all your sensors, power meters, SRAM AXS components and compatible ANT+ light and radar systems to the Karoo 3. Using the ANT+ LEV profile, it is also possible to read out data from compatible e-bike drive systems, such as charge status, range or current speed, and have it shown on the display.

• See what to expect: Bike-specific navigation that helps you never miss a turn. If you do get lost, the automatic rerouting function will quickly put you back on the right track.
• Only see what is important to you: Create individual profiles for each activity type and select which data you want to see and how it is displayed. Profile-based settings make it particularly easy to switch between different riding styles and surfaces.
• Easy access via the Hammerhead Dashboard (website): View the data of your completed rides, create a route yourself or import it from a partner app such as Strava or Komoot, synchronise workouts from TrainingPeaks, for example, or define your training zones.
• Achieve your goals with customisable training plans: It’s easier than ever to follow your training plan and achieve your goals with intuitive support for structured workouts. The option of automatic synchronisation with TrainingPeaks and TrainerRoad makes organisation easier for you.
• Conquer the mountains with CLIMBER: CLIMBER automatically recognises upcoming ascents – even if you are not on pre-planned routes – and provides you with a detailed graphical representation of the gradient percentages and sections so that you can plan your ascent perfectly.
• Route planning with Points of Interest: Create a route with your preferred riding surface (tarmac, gravel, trail) with the Hammerhead Dashboard. Add individual POIs and download the route so that you can use it on other devices or share it with others.
• Know your range: The Karoo warns you when the battery level of one of your devices paired via Bluetooth or ANT+ is low. This also includes the battery of your connected e-bike drive.
• Keep your eyes on the road: Beeps alert you to upcoming turns, approaching traffic (optional radar required), training progress, low battery and smartphone notifications. And if you want to enjoy the silence, you can also deactivate the beeper.
• Keep track of things even in the rain: To prevent input errors in heavy rain, you can activate Rain Lock, which blocks operation via the Karoo’s touchscreen. Of course, you can still control your device using the buttons.
• Stay up to date with short update intervals: Improvements and new features are constantly being added to the Karoo via software updates.
• Easy uploading and synchronisation with the Companion App: The app for Android and IOS allows you to automatically upload completed rides, synchronise routes and workouts, mirror smartphone notifications, share location data (Live Tracking) and share locations (Google or Apple Maps) for navigation purposes – all via Bluetooth.
• Perfect SRAM AXS integration: Simple and automatic connection and grouping of all SRAM AXS sensors. If you use a SRAM RED AXS 12-speed groupset (from 2024), you can assign an individual function to the bonus buttons for operating the Karoo 3.
• Indoor training at any time: When you pair the Karoo 3 with an indoor trainer, you can ride anywhere, anytime.

• Take full control with the High-Res touchscreen and fast-response buttons: The brilliant smartphone-quality touchscreen with hard-wearing Corning Gorilla Glass lets you take control of the Karoo – even in the rain and mud. However, you can also operate it entirely with the physical buttons, which is particularly useful in extreme conditions or when wearing gloves.
• Don't worry about the weather: If you can take it, the Karoo can too: Rain, dust and mud cannot harm it.
